Council Meeting - September 13, 2023

Monthly Section 3 Council Meeting

In person or via Zoom. The meeting will be held in the Library on the ground floor of CCUMC.  Residents have been sent the meeting ID and passcode via email if you prefer to attend via Zoom. The meeting is open to all. (Interested members of the public are invited to contact the Village Manager for the meeting link and passcode: villagemanager@chevychasesection3.org).

Please note, the Church has new access protocols and a new security system in place so those coming in person will have to call the cell number on the side door for someone to let you into the building.

2 - Buildings & Roads

3 - Financial & Administrative

• Council Questions re: finances
• Proposed Charter amendments:
  • Charter Section 601 (annual meeting date): to allow the Council to modify the annual meeting date by up to three days.
  • Charter Section 602 (elections): modify the annual election date by up to four days; to clarify the nomination requirement; and to allow the Council to cancel an uncontested election.
  • Charter Section 703 (competitive bidding threshold): raising the contract amount requiring a competitive bid from $10,000 to $15,000 or such other amount as the State of Maryland has set for its eMaryland Marketplace.
