Council Meeting - January 10, 2024

Monthly Section 3 Council Meeting

In person or via Zoom. The meeting will be held in the Library on the ground floor of CCUMC.  Residents have been sent the meeting ID and passcode via email if you prefer to attend via Zoom. The meeting is open to all. (Interested members of the public are invited to contact the Village Manager for the meeting link and passcode: villagemanager@chevychasesection3.org).

Please note, the Church has new access protocols and a new security system in place so those coming in person will have to call the Village Manager so that we can let you in: 301-656-9117.

1 - Approval of the minutes from the December meeting as published in the January newsletter

2 - Buildings & Roads

• Permits issued since the last meeting
• Discussion and vote on proposed legislation to ban gas powered leaf blowers other than during fall leaf cleanup season (Oct. 15 - Dec. 31)
• Status update on letter concerning technical amendment to state law regarding municipalities' ability to regulate setbacks, height and massing of multifamily dwellings, in addition to single family residences

3 - Financial & Administrative

• Review and discussion of financial statements 
• Possible rental of office space above Brookville Rd. shops 

4 - Community & Social

• January drive for detergents, feminine hygiene product donations 

5 - Comments and questions from residents

Note: The Executive Session to evaluate the Village Manager's salary and performance has been postponed until the February meeting.
